MXP (1-[1-(2-methoxyphenyl)-2-phenylethyl]piperidine or Methoxphenidine) is a dissociative hallucinogenic compound of the diarylethylamine chemical class that has been sold online as a designer drug. It induces a state referred to as “dissociative anesthesia” and has similar effects to that of the arylcyclohexylamine and morphinan classes of dissociatives. Methoxphenidine, or 2-MeO-Diphenidine is a molecule of the diarylethylamine class. Methoxphenidine is structurally analogous to Diphenidine, containing an additional 2-methoxy CH3O- substitution.
The physiological and toxicological properties of this compound are not known. This product is intended for forensic and research applications.
